Recreational Opportunities

Golf: 

  • Alberta Beach Golf Resort and RV Park is one of Edmonton’s newest 18-hole championship golf courses. The par 72 course is nestled into a natural Aspen forest with rolling terrain, offering challenging, scenic holes and immaculate greens in a beautiful, quiet setting.

Fishing: 

  • The lake is primarily known for its productive walleye and pike fishing, although the lake also contains burbot and yellow perch. Walleye fishing in the spring and early summer gets a thumbs up. Anglers can find productive pike fishing near the West Cove boat launch. Blue-green algae often cuts oxygen levels in the lake by midsummer. More fishing info is available here

Swimming and Boating: 

  • Ample opportunities for a wide variety of water-based sports including water-skiing, windsurfing, swimming, and sailing exist. Large boats may be launched at Alberta Beach and at the narrows with several other boat access points around the shore. Lac Ste Anne commonly has blooms of blue-green algae during summer, and aquatic vegetation grows extensively throughout much of the lake,

Winter Activities: 

  • Lac Ste Anne is a winter paradise with opportunities to fish, quad and snowmobile. The Alberta Beach Snowmobile Club grooms and runs a trail system in the area.

Shopping

Gunn: 

  • Gunn is situated on the northeast corner of the lake and features a convenience  store with gas and liquor sales.

Alberta Beach:  

  • Alberta Beach has many amenities including a grocery store, hardware store, restaurant's, convenience stores, and gasoline.

Onoway: 

  • Onoway is east of the Lake and has many amenities including a grocery store, pharmacy, restaurant's, convenience stores, and gasoline.

Dining

Mama's in the Kitchen: 

  • This place is the definition of small town greatness. The staff are wonderful. VERY big portions, Great for Dine In or Pickup.

Jungles Bar & Grill:  

  • Food is great and well priced.  Service is attentive.  It's a well established local bar,

Jeddy's Bar & Grill: 

  • Cute interior and nice patio! Service was nice and friendly and the whole place had a great beachside vibe.

Jin Noodles: 

  • This is not a sit-down restaurant, but as far as food goes, this is the best Chinese takeout in the region.

Salt and Pepper: 

  • Located in Darwell, this little restaurant and lounge offers amazing food with large food portions. Offer Western and Chinese food with friendly service

Annual Events

Sno Mo Days: 

  • Winter festival held annually in February. Check out the excitement here

Polynesian Days: 

  • Summer Festival held annually on the August Long Weekend. For more info check it out here

Lac Ste Anne Pilgrimage: 

  • Each July, thousands of pilgrims make their way to the shores of Lac Ste Anne. Many come in search of healing and spiritual renewal. Some simply come to reconnect with old acquaintances and forge new friendships. For more information check it out here

Grasmere School: 

  • In Alberta Beach serves students from K-7 and is part of the Northern Gateway Regional Public School Board.

Darwell School: 

  • Located in Darwell, serving students from K-7

Onoway: 

  • Serving students from Grades 8-12
