Recreational Opportunities

Golf: Silver Sands Golf Course is on the shores of Lake Isle. From its white silica sand bunkers on the front nine to its spectacular views on the back nine, this well-maintained course offers some of the best golf holes you’ll play. Silver Sands Golf Resort one of Alberta’s hidden golfing gems. 

Fishing: Lots of opportunities to fish year round. Boat Launches are plentiful including locations at Silver Sands, Gainford, and Kokomo along  with many of the subdivisions in the area that have local launches and Day Use Areas. More fishing info is available here

Swimming and Boating: With the many Islands the water is smooth and ripple free making it one of the best water skiing lakes in the area. Lake Isle commonly has blooms of blue-green algae during summer, and aquatic vegetation grows extensively throughout much of the lake,

Winter Activities: Lake Isle is a winter paradise with opportunities to fish, quad and snowmobile. Snowmobile into Darwell or Gainford for lunch or hit the many trails and trail systems available. The Lac Ste Anne ATV Club actively maintains a trail system in the area.

Shopping

Darwell: Darwell is situated on the northeast corner of the lake and features a convenience  store with gas and a restaurant.

Wabamun: Wabamun is 10 km east of the Lake and has many amenities including a grocery store, pharmacy, restaurant's, convenience stores, and gasoline.

Mini Mall: Located east of the Lake on RR44 this roadside turnout features a Shell convenience store, a Burger King, KFC, and Tim Hortons

Entwhistle: Entwhistle is west of the Lake and has many amenities including a grocery store, pharmacy, restaurant's, convenience stores, and gasoline.

Seba Beach: Seba Beach is located in the northwest corner of the Lake and has a general store with groceries and liquor.

Dining

Salt N Pepper Restaurant: Great Western food, Pizza Burger' s, Steak and Asian Food, in the Heart of the. Beautiful town of Darwell & Lac St Anne County

Get Stuffed Burger Emporium:  This bright, fun restaurant is a busy hot spot on highway 16 located in Gainford.

Iron Lady Saloon: Recently renovated. Nicely done. It's huge! Western themed. Country music. Big stage for live music. The bar is gorgeous. They serve food too. Pool table. Located on highway 16 in Gainford.

Annual Events

Darwell Ag Society: The club is active and hosted many events including a Fair, Bull Bash, Barnburner and Ag Drag, Check them out here

Darwell School is a small K-7 school in picturesque rural Alberta, located 85 kilometers west of Edmonton. Darwell students are challenged to excel in every aspect of their school life.
